mithrandir my proof is in the video along with a lot of others from Russia. Libertarians from what I have seen in hundreds of posts believe in no police on our highways. When you have that it is up to you to carry your ball bat and drive anywhere on the road you feel like and in any manner. You are in charge. We have seen what the affect of that is. Is that what you want?
Russia’s history is not libertarian, it’s authoritarian. What is seen now is simply the result of authoritarian what-you-can-get-away-with type systems. Not a spontaneous order libertarian system.
If you think cops protect you on the road or keep order you’re delusional. Such a thing is simply illusion.
Does it matter what Russia is? What it shows is no police on the highways and no laws enforced on the highway. Is that not the same as what Libertarians want? Is that what you say when you say it is your choice to follow which laws you feel like?

Yes Brent by law the police do not have to protect you. You say why is that? If everyone that was injured by someone else sued the police then you would be broke paying for our police court costs. I’ll give you a for instance: Peace officers do not operate checkpoints. Occupiers do. The fact that many people fall for the semantics doesn’t change the principle of the situation. Today’s police, becoming more and more federalized, are what the founders would have considered a standing army occupying the nation. The last checkpoint I went through the cop made a direct analogy to Iraq. Don’t worry Clover, you’ll learn the hard way unless course is altered. It’s always a good laugh when your kind encounters the police state and then whines to the news media about how they’re good people that shouldn’t be subject to such things.

I was talking to a guy from India today. He has been working in the USA for a few years. He was telling how India is a country of freedom to do a lot more than in the USA. He also said that it will slowly change because many people that when they are told they have freedom they do not know how to limit their own actions and it is becoming very dangerous. He also brought up that traffic in most of India is anything goes and you have to look in all directions to keep from getting hit but on their interstates there are laws that are enforced and it is vastly different driving. A lot safer.
He also mentioned in history that when people were slaves in their country and were told that they were free, then they stopped working but still were expecting to be fed?

That falls under the same principle of things you have argued for and defended. The DUI checkpoint operates under the excuse that anyone might be a drunk driver and thus must be detained to determine if he is or not. This principle keeps being extended further and further. This week in the news is a former marine who has been detained in a psychiatric facility because of what people in government felt he might be.
Establishing checkpoints and habituating americans too them is very important and not to be taken lightly. To do it full measure in a single step is to invite resistance. Once people such as yourself throw your support behind checkpoints it is very difficult to admit you’ve been duped as things progress. Those who get on top in this system are very good at manipulating people and have no problems doing so. Eventually you’ll get to experience what other people already have. Since you didn’t object when those other people were hassled, in a way it could be argued you deserve whatever happens to you.
